Lolldaigas Ranch
Adresse: http://www.lolldaiga.com .One of our favourite places on the planet, with abundance of wildlife and views that stretch to infinity. A privately owned 49,000 ranch and wildlife reserve and easy accessed from the farm. Often referred to as the most beautiful ranch in Kenya.
We regularly take walking and driving safaris in to the Lolldaigas as well as horseback safaris for the day. Please ask us about options if you're interested. Highly recommended!

Ngare Ndare Canopy Walk and Blue Pools
Adresse: http://www.ngarendare.org .Accompanied by a guide and an armed ranger, guests can explore these beautiful forest trails in the foothills of Mount Kenya. Discover hidden waterfalls and rare birdlife, enjoy a private swim in forest pools then navigate the 500 metre elevated walkway high in the forest canopy.

Horse Riding
Adresse: www.olepangifarm.com .Guests can enjoy an outride in the surrounding community area (approximately 2 hours) or a longer ride for more advanced riders in a neighbouring conservancy amongst wildlife (approximately 3-4 hours depending on pace.) This must be booked in advance before arrival and requires at least intermediate skills.
Riding lessons are also available, both for children and adults in an all-weather arena and on a selection of well-schooled horses. The farm also has a bush polo ground and polo lessons can be arranged for advanced riders.
Community Walks with Mr Kariuki
Adresse: www.olepangifarm.com .By far one of the most popular activities at Olepangi Farm is to go for a community walk with the Mr Kariuki, our neighbour, who can only be described as astonishing. His knowledge of the social history of the area is fascinating and his knowledge of world affairs humbles most of us. Go for an hour or an afternoon, it is completely flexible. Many of our guests go out with him more than once!

Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Adresse: http://www.olpejetaconservancy.org .The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 90,000-acre (360 km2) not-for-profit wildlife conservancy in Central Kenya's Laikipia County. It is situated on the equator west of Nanyuki, between the foothills of the Aberdares and Mount Kenya. The Ol Pejeta Conservancy works to conserve wildlife, provide a sanctuary for great apes and to generate income through wildlife tourism and complementary enterprises for re-investment in conservation and community development.
The Conservancy boasts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, and in 2013 reached a population milestone of 100 black rhino. It also houses the two remaining northern white rhino in the world, who were moved here from Dvůr Králové Zoo in the Czech Republic. The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is situated here, and provides a haven for orphaned, abandoned and rescued chimpanzees. It is the only place in Kenya where these great apes can be seen. The Conservancy is host to the "Big five game" among a large selection of other African animals, which makes it a popular safari destination. It also operates a successful livestock program, which serves to benefit local pastoralists and wildlife. Through the conservancy's community development programme, Ol Pejeta provides funding to surrounding communities to aid health, education, water and infrastructure projects. They also support the provision of agriculture and livestock extension services and the development of community-based conservation tourism ventures.

Samburu National Reserve
Adresse: https://www.samburu.net .One of the most stunning wildlife reserves in Kenya both in terms of landscape and variety of wildlife. A long, but highly satisfying day trip from the farm, taking an easy two hours to get to the main gate. We go often . . . leaving early in the morning, take a packed picnic lunch and a blanket for lounging by the river during lunchtime. Home by 7:00 or 8:00 in the evening with a hot shower and delicious dinner back at the farm.

Solio Ranch

Beautiful yellow fever groves, large herds of zebra and other plains game as well as good lion sighting opportunities. An easy and very enjoyable day trip from the farm.

Mt Kenya - By Helicopter

Horse riding on Mt Kenya
Adresse: www.olepangifarm.com .Horse rides on the slope of Mt Kenya . . . with every journey we wander amongst towering, heavily scented trees which cast a dappled light over the soft, green forest floor. We cross small streams and pass through pretty glades, where we occasionally see zebra, antelope and elephants. The grassy footing within parts of the forest lends itself to long trots and gentle uphill canters. There are also many fallen trees and logs to jump if you wish to add some more excitement to your ride.
There are many different routes that we can take. We can go for a shorter ride of 3 to 4 hours within the Forest Reserve, or a longer trip of 5 to 6 hours up to the moorlands where, emerging from the forest we are immediately confronted by a breath-taking, panoramic view of the Mount Kenya peaks. There are two options:
HALF DAY RIDE
This ride includes a classic picnic lunch consisting of homemade sandwiches and snacks, carried in saddlebags. During the course of the ride we find a pretty spot to rest, untack the horses and lay out our picnic blankets.

FULLY DAY RIDE
This ride includes a delicious homemade lunch which you enjoy whilst seated at a table, in a beautiful secluded glade within the forest. Alcoholic refreshments of house wine and beer are included in the price.

Climbing Mt Kenya

Climbing to 5,199 meters, Mount Kenya is the second tallest mountain in Africa. The scenery surrounding this designated World Heritage Site is breath-taking. It is pristine wilderness with lakes, tarns, glaciers, dense forest, mineral springs and a selection of rare and endangered species of animals, high altitude adapted plains game and unique montane and alpine vegetation. Visitors can enjoy mountain climbing, camping and caving with the mountain’s rugged glacier-clad peaks providing the perfect backdrop.
